Area of responsibility

Klemens Haselsteiner had been a member of the Management Board since 1 January 2020 and CEO of STRABAG SE since 1 January 2023.

The central divisions BMTI, CML, STRABAG Innovation & Digitalisation, TPA, and Zentrale Technik reported to the CEO, as did the central staff divisions Business Compliance & Management Systems, Corporate Communications, Internal Auditing, Health, Safety & Wellbeing, and Business Development. The other members of the Executive Board will temporarily take over the agendas for which Klemens Haselsteiner is responsible.

Curriculum vitae

Klemens Haselsteiner completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at DePaul University in Chicago and an Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

He began his career in 2004 at KPMG in Austria. After completing his civil service and gathering work experience at a Russian industrial group, he joined the STRABAG Group in Russia in 2011, where he worked, among other things, as a commercial project manager. From 2015, he was employed at the Stuttgart subdivision of the German STRABAG group company Ed. Züblin AG, initially as commercial business unit manager of turnkey construction and as of 2018 as commercial subdivision manager. From 2023 - 2025 he was CEO of STRABAG SE.

During his time as CEO, he initiated one of the company's most comprehensive transformation processes with “Work On Progress” and set the course for more sustainability, greater innovative capacity and resilience at STRABAG. His impetus in the digitalization of the construction sector and the ecological transformation has had an impact far beyond the company. Klemens Haselsteiner passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 17, 2025.
