STRABAG has been active in the Romanian market since 1991 and established its offices in Bucharest in 1992. By now the group has subsidiaries in all regions of Romania relevant to the market. The company is operating in all construction sectors, particularly in Transportation Infrastructures and Building Construction & Civil Engineering segments as well as on environmental construction projects.
In the Transportation Infrastructures particular emphasis is placed upon the rehabilitation of national, regional and municipal roads. STRABAG's experience allows the provision of motorways, expressways and the modernisation, expansion and new construction of railways and rail facilities. Furthermore, STRABAG operates successfully in the areas of hydraulic engineering and canal construction as well as the redevelopment of supply lines. The construction of outdoor facilities, parking spaces, pavements and sports grounds also part of STRABAG's field of activity.
Among the Building Construction segment projects are the construction of office, residential and shopping facilities as well as the delivery of concrete foundations for wind farms and maintenance work in refinery plants.
Civil Engineering activities comprise the construction of sewage treatment systems, refuse sorting plants, composting plants and hydroelectric power plants as well as the development and modernisation of urban waste water systems.
STRABAG possesses an excellent quality management system in Romania. The ISO 9001 certifications (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 27001 (security management), OHSAS 18001 (health and safety management) and SA 8000 (social standards management) are only the best-known certifications that STRABAG has received in Romania.
Besides the brand name STRABAG, the group also appears in Romania under the corporate names ARL, BHG, CARB SA, BITUNOVA, DRUMCO, MINERAL, SAT, TPA and ZÜBLIN.
